Dr. Abdellatif Mazouz, Minister of Moroccans resident abroad, is on a work visit to the United States from 2 to 10 June 2013. After his visit to Washington, D.C. area, the Minister is expected to hold meetings in Orlando, Houston, Los Angeles and New York.
The aim of Dr. Mazouz’s visit to the States is mainly to mobilize expertise and investment of Moroccans resident in the United States and to support the Moroccan civil society there.
The Minister is scheduled for a series of meetings with U.S. politicians to stimulate the professional mobility of our citizens and to foster cultural and educational partnerships to benefit Moroccans in the United States.
During these meetings, the Minister will exhibit available investment opportunities in Morocco to Moroccan professionals in the U.S., including the support mechanisms set up by the Ministry in this regard. The minister is also expected, during planned meetings with representatives of the Moroccan civil society in the United States, to present the ministry’s projects aimed at supporting Moroccan NGOs working in religious, cultural and social realms.
Dr. Mazouz will also hold several meetings with his U.S. counterparts as well as with U.S. national and local officials. These meetings will focus on bilateral cooperation for the professional mobility of our citizens. Programs to facilitate teaching of the Arabic language will also be on the Minister’s agenda during discussions with local councilors and mayors of cities with large Moroccan populations.
