Casablanca - The last place you want your remote-controlled helicopter to fly over is a royal residence. A French and a Moroccan men were recently arrested after their remote-controlled helicopter was intercepted flying over the royal residence in Dar Bouazza, Casablanca.

A Moroccan and a French citizen mobilized security services in Casablanca by sending their remote-controlled helicopter over the royal residence, all out of curiosity, according to daily Al Massae.

After their flying toy was intercepted by security services, the two suspects were immediately arrested after they were found to hold its remote control.

Police interrogation of the suspects, reports Al Massae, was anything but a customary one.

Their remote-controlled helicopter was one-meter long and was equipped with a camera that filmed anything it flew over, according to the same source.

Police interrogations of the two suspects aimed to determine whether the helicopter’s owners had been next to the royal residence or were intending to film what was inside it.

According to Al Massae, the two suspects were subsequently released. Their helicopter, on the other hand, was confiscated and the memory card it contained was sent to a laboratory to verify whether it had recorded anything inside the royal residence.

Yet, police investigations are still ongoing to determine the links between the French and the Moroccan.
