Fez - Moroccan authorities raised the alert status at airports to prevent any Coronavirus (MERS-CoV) outbreak from reaching Morocco.

According to the Wednesday edition of Moroccan daily al Massae, the Ministry of Health, in coordination with the Interior Ministry, has tightened control at border points, especially at airports with high air traffic to and from Saudi Arabia.

Of particular concern is the high number of Moroccan passengers travelling to Saud Arabia to perform Umrah, and especially as the Hajj season approaches.
