Rabat - Morocco called on Thursday the European Union to "urgently take its responsibilities" and "honor its commitments" contained in the agreements and treaties signed with Morocco on Moroccan vegetables and fruits exports which have been recently subjected to some unilateral changes, according to Maghreb Arab Press.
The European Commission should "also take its responsibilities", says the Moroccan ministry of agriculture and sea fisheries, recalling that Morocco and the EU are carrying on discussions to find a way out to the crisis caused by the European unilateral decision to change the "entry price" system for imports of Moroccan fruits and vegetables into the European Union.
The agriculture department notes that it has put forward a balanced proposal conform to the European legislation, warning that this situation leads to poor visibility for Moroccan professionals and challenges fundamental principles in the Morocco-EU agriculture trade relations.
