Princess Lalla Salma, the chairwoman of Foundation Lalla Salma for the prevention and treatment of cancer, accompanied by Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, the chairperson of the family development foundation and Chairperson of General Women's Union, United Arab Emirates, inaugurated on Wednesday the center of "Sheikha Fatima" to treat cancers of the ovary, uterus and breast in the national Institute of Ibn Sina Health Center in Rabat.

The Moroccan health minister Al Hussain Al Wardi gave a presentation on the center’s services and medical equipment before Princess Lalla Salma and Sheikha Fatima and other attendees, including Dr. Maytha bint Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State and Al Asri Saeed Al Dhaheri, the UAE ambassador to Morocco.

The creation of this center comes within the framework of the partnership between Lalla Salma Foundation for the prevention and treatment of cancer, the Ministry of Health and Ibn Sina Health Center in Rabat, and the financial support provided by Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak.

Princess Lalla Salma gave the award for "Lalla Salma Foundation for the Prevention and Treatment of Cancer" to Sheikha Fatima and praised her humanitarian work, saying “it reflected strong fraternal relations between the two Morocco and the United Arab Emirates.”

The center will be in charge of patients with cancers of the ovary, uterus and breast, and will provide training of doctors and advance the scientific research in this area.

The center consists of four blocks, including outpatient clinics, a department of Surgery, a hospitalization service, a endoscopic examination hall, a pharmacy, a cell for scientific research in the field of breast and uterine cancer, and a hall fitted with the latest equipment to prepare specialized chemical medicines.
