Tinjdad, Morocco - The new Royal Couple of Spain, Felipe VI and Queen Doña Leitizia are on an official two-day visit to Morocco today at the invitation of King Mohammed VI, said a statement from the Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery.
On this occasion, the King will offer an official Fotour (meal served to break the fast during the holy month of Ramadan) at the Royal Palace in Rabat in honor of the Spanish Sovereigns and the delegation accompanying them.
Morocco’s ambassador in Spain, Mohammed Fadel Benyaich said earlier that “The visit has a tremendous importance for the two countries and for the two friend people and confirms the friendship, cooperation and mutual respect relations binding Morocco and Spain and the two Royal families.”
After the first visit of King Felipe VI to the Vatican and Portugal, the royal monarch’s fisrt destina destination outside of the European Union is Morocco.
Spain's King Felipe VI was formally crowned in June following the abdication of his father Juan Carlos I.
