New York - Saudi Arabia announced on Sunday night that Monday is the first day of Eid El Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
Saudi Arabia said the new crescent of the month of Shawal was witnessed in several parts of the kingdom. Shawal follows Ramadan in the Muslim calendar.
Qatar, the UAE, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, Sudan and Palestine also reported the sighting of Shawal crescent.
Oman announced that Shawwal crescent has not been sighted and Eid Al Fitr will be marked on Tuesday.
Moroccan have still not announced whether Eid El Fitr will be Monday or Tuesday.
