King Mohammed VI sent a letter of condolence to the family of the young Algerian artist, Cheb Abdelkader Akil, who died in a road accident on June 14, in Tangier, many news sources reported on Thursday.
In the letter, the King expressed his profound and sincere condolences to Cheb Akil’s family, his fans and closest friends and relatives, praying God to grant them "solace and patience in their sorrowful moments."
The Sovereign said he shared the family’s grief, emphasizing Cheb Akil’s distinctive qualities as both a talented artist and lovable and popular person in his immediate entourage and among the fans of Rai music, both in Algeria, his motherland, and in Morocco, his second country.
King prayed God Almighty to embrace the departed in His holy mercy and welcome him in His vast paradise.
King Mohammed VI sent another letter of sympathy to Cheb Akil’s widow, in which he expressed his sincerest condolences and feelings of compassion.
