Fez- Morocco is taking the terrorist threat posed by terrorist groups linked to the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant and Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQMI) very seriously.
The Moroccan press reported in its weekend issues that the coast of Casablanca, as well as Mohammedia have been witnessing an unusual activity of the Moroccan Royal Navy.
According to the Moroccan daily Al Massae, the Moroccan army deployed in the coast of Casablanca anti-aircraft missiles, as well as automatic weapons to prevent any potential attack from terrorist groups.
According to the same source, the Moroccan authorities gave strict instruction to air traffic control authorities to report any aircraft trying to enter the Moroccan airspace without obtaining an authorization from the competent authorities, as a result of the warnings that came from Western capitals regarding the intention of some terrorist organizations in North Africa to carry out attacks on vital installations in the countries of the Maghreb.
