Tinejdad, Morocco- Amany El Khayat, the Egyptian TV presenter who insulted Morocco in her Daily TV show, will go to court following a complaint filed by the Moroccan Embassy in Cairo and Association of Moroccan Community in Egypt.
These actions were a result of Amany El-Khayat?lashing out at King Mohammed VI and the ruling Islamists party claiming that the Moroccan economy is based on "prostitution." Her comments can be seen in a video posted on YouTube, July 16.
According to the Egyptian Arabic website Dostor, the Attorney General of the Republic of Egypt, Hisham Barakat, issued a communiqué announcing the court proceeding.
The French based website Yabiladies said that Article 181 of the Egyptian law condemns anyone who would attack and / or insult a king or president of a foreign country.
Following a storm of controversy over the offensive remarks made by Amany El-Khayat in her Daily TV show, the Moroccan ambassador to Egypt and the Association of MRE in Egypt filed a complaint against the TV presenter on charges of libel and defamation of the king and the people of Morocco, through her TV show on "Online TV."
Despite the apology of Amany El-Khayat to the King and people of Morocco, her unprofessional blunder has cost her the position of presenter in the "ONTV" daily show.
