Rabat- A French national had been reportedly arrested on August 26th at Mohammed V international airport in Casablanca for having assaulted a police officer, according to Le360.ma news website.
The person in question, a retired French national who was on his way to Basel, Switzerland from Mohammed V airport, was arrested following his assault against a police officer in charge of the completion of border formalities.
The same source added that the French national asked for special treatment in order to avoid standing in the line, a request that was turned down by the airport officer.
To express his discontent with the officer's refusal, the French national damaged the area in which the airport officer stands, causing him injuries described as "minor" in his hand and foot.
The officer was taken to Ibn Rushd hospital in Casablanca for additional medical care while the attacker is waiting to be presented before the court.
