Taroudant, Morocco- More than 1,600 cases of suicide recorded in Morocco in 2012, according to a report from the World Health Organization (WHO), released on September 4, covering the years 2000 to 2012.

The report says men (1,431 cases) are more affected than women (198 cases), with the suicide rate increased by 97.8% between 2000 and 2012.

The report suggests that there were 5-10 suicides per 100,000 in the population, and men were more affected than women, though exact figures are not available.
