Rabat- A former Tunisian player died on Thursday, while he was fighting in the ranks of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
Nidhal Selmi used to play for the Etoile Sportive of Tunis with which he won the Tunisian Cup last season. He quit soccer and joined ISIS.
According to Tunisian radio station Nagham FM, the family of the former player was informed of his death by his brother, who is also a member of ISIS.
The 21-year old former player of the Tunisian national team of under 17, left Tunisia last April to join ISIS.
