Rabat - Morocco is in a strategic position for energy integration with neighboring countries and in the Mediterranean region, according to the Energy Charter Report on investment climate in Morocco.
The forthcoming report encourages Morocco to support all initiatives related to interconnection between electricity and natural gas markets.
The Energy Charter Conference, which is the governing and decision-making body for the Energy Charter process, said that Morocco created an environment favorable for foreign investments and abiding by market principles in the energy sector.
Morocco also created non discriminating conditions for foreign investment pursuant to the Charter principles dated 1991, said the document.
The Energy Charter Conference invited Morocco to consider adhering to the Energy Charter and the agreement on energy efficiency to reinforce conditions for trade, transit and investment in the energy sector.
