Morocco’s Benatia in CAF’s Shortlist for the 2014 African Player of the Year

Rabat- The African football Confederation (CAF) has announced on Thursday the nominees for the 2014 African player of the year and the 2014 African player of the year (Based in Africa).

Moroccan international and Bayern Munich player Mehdi Benatia is among the twenty-five players that have been nominated for the topmost African player of the year.

The winners of the two categories will be decided by votes from Head Coaches and Technical Directors of the National Associations affiliated to CAF.

The Awards Gala is set to take place on Thursday, 8 January 2015 in Lagos, Nigeria.

The African Player of the year nominees are (in alphabetical order) as follows:
