Rabat Hosts the 4th African Creative Economy Conference

Rabat - Morocco will host the fourth annual African Creative Economy Conference (ACEC) in Rabat from November 13 through 15, 2014.

The conference will operate under the theme “Towards an understanding of the creative and cultural industries in Africa." It will bring together practitioners, academics, policymakers, and stakeholders from 40 African countries and the entire world.

ACEC will emphasize the significant role of culture in sustainable development, as it will purposefully and practically analyze and reflect upon the current status of the African creative economy.

Before this year, the ACEC was held successfully in Nairobi (2011), Dakar (2012), and Cape Town (2013), according to ACEC website.

The ACEC is a yearly occasion to raise questions and discuss the strategies that could enhance the sustainability and growth of the creative sector in Africa.

“This meeting provides an enabling platform for dialogue, information exchange, networking and the strengthening of partnerships across arts disciplines, sectors, national borders and continents.” ACEC organizers said.
