Rabat- Heavy rainfall in the southern regions has reportedly caused a partial collapse of Taghazout Bridge, 21.7 km away from Agadir, and left people cut off due to floods.
The bridge, which links Taghazout with the village of Aourire, has reportedly collapsed early in the morning of Friday, due to the heavy rain that has been falling in the region since Thursday night.
Alyaoum 24 quoted an eyewitness as saying that a man managed to escape death when the bridge collapsed while he was crossing it on his motorcycle.
This bridge remains one of the main links between Agadir and Essauira. The road has since been closed to traffic while dozens of pedestrians wait for the rain to subside before passing through.
