Rabat - The World's leading furniture company IKEA announced the opening of its first store in Morocco by the end of 2015 in the new city of zenata. It will be the IKEA's second store in Africa.
The Swedish company has reportedly invested 40 million euros to build its first store in Morocco in the city of Zenata located between Casablanca and the capital Rabat.
The store will occupy an area of 26,600 square meters and will create 1,400 jobs, including 400 direct positions.
Al Homaizi Group from Kuwait, which owns the franchise of the Swedish brand in Kuwait and Jordan, will operate the IKEA store in Morocco as well.
The company has launched a wide recruiting campaign in partnership with a governmental agency.
The company said it will adjust its prices to meet the purchasing power of Moroccan consumers and will provide a wide variety of global products most will enter Morocco for the first time.
IKEA has 346 stores in 43 countries, including a store in Egypt.
