Rabat - In an interview with daily newspaper Al Massae, former coach Oscar Fulloné, said that he refuses all accusations made against him suggesting that he has squandered all his fortune in casinos, pointing out at the same time that the reason why he goes through a difficult financial situation is because his wife was diagnosed with cancer in 2001.
The Argentine, who coached many Moroccan football clubs such as Raja de Casablanca, Wydad de Casablanca, Maghreb de Fes and KAC de Kenitra, said that he lost most of his personal savings on the medical treatment of his wife, who underwent a surgery in the French capital in order to control the spread of the malignant disease.
Asked about the veracity of reports suggesting that he misspent his fortune in casinos, Fulloné said that much of what he was earning from his job as a football coach was directed to the help of anyone who was in need, adding that he would have become a millionaire by now if he had adopted some of the behaviors other coaches are embracing, such as the receiving commissions from selling players.
The former Estudiantes player said that he lives now in a small apartment in the city of Casablanca with his little family. He added that his right eye was infected with a malicious virus that made him unable to see properly.
Talking about his relationship with the former clubs he once coached, the 75-year-old said that almost everybody turned their back to hm with the exception of former Raja Casablanca president Abdul Hamid Soauiri who offered him“great help.”
Asked to explain the reason of this kind of behavior towards him, Fulloné said: "I was telling the truth and therefore I am only afraid of God."
