New York - The National Public Radio (NPR) has just published a ranking of the top ten best global Music for 2014.
Morocco is honored in the ranking thanks to the album produced by Moroccan famous Gnawa musician, Hassan Hakmoun, who came fifth on the ranking.
Hakmoun’s album made it to the list thanks to the song Ballili (my father). The artist’s album is the first he produced since 2002 when he had produced his last album ‘The Gift.”
“I am very happy and proud to make it to the NPR’s top ten list of Best Global Music of 2014. It is such an honor for me and my home country, as well as for the Gnawa music,” Hassan Hakmoun told Morocco World News on Saturday.
The list of the top ten Best Global Music of 2014 is topped by Belgian musician Stromae with his 'Racine Carrée' (Square Root).
