Tunis - Tunisian youth belonging to the world’s largest student-run organization, AIESEC, will launch a national project called “Educate Me.”
“Educate Me” aims to teach the English language in a modern and creative way.
The initiative provides a different type of learning environment for participants, as international interns who are AIESEC exchange participants will deliver classes.
“Educate Me” opens the door for more communication and interaction from both the teacher and the learner. Designing a space where different cultures meet under the same roof makes the learning experience even more enjoyable.
Lisa Bunesco, from Romania, was an exchange participant with AIESEC and was chosen to work in “Educate Me 2014.” She said, “I have been teaching English to over 100 college students for 3 months. Looking back, I know it was the best decision I could ever have taken. It was more than a language course; it has been a mutual intercultural learning experience."
“Teaching English has been a journey which gave a new meaning to my life and made me feel that my work there could indeed positively impact the future careers of my students with whom I still keep in touch,” she added.
The organizers chose English as the language of instruction because it is the most used language in the world. For students, acquiring this language makes global opportunities more accessible and renders them much more competent in the labor market.
