The Moroccan hackers calling themselves “Moroccan Deterrence Forces” (MDF) carried out what they called “Moroccan Vengeance” by destroying the leading Egyptian news website Daily Alwafd.

The hackers eradicated the content of the news website, replacing it with a photo of the King Mohamed VI of Morocco shaking the hand of Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The hackers also left a message stating that the attack was a reaction to the recent offensive move by the news website that had published the map of Morocco divided into two halves omitting Morocco’s desert.

MDF added that the action was also in response to the recent series of attacks led by the Egyptian media outlets against Morocco, the Moroccan people, and the King of Morocco.

Alwafd reportedly was able to rectify the situation and take back control just two hours after the attack was carried out.
