Rabat - EU special representative for human rights Stavros Lambrinidis expressed, on Friday in Rabat, EU's support for all reforms undertaken by Morocco to promote human rights, deeming that the Kingdom has become an example to follow regionally.
In a meeting with head of government Abdelilah Benkirane, the European official expressed the EU's ambition to broaden the prospects for partnership and cooperation with Morocco in the human rights field internationally and bilaterally, said a statement from the head of government's office.
Lambrinidis, who is on a working visit to the Kingdom, lauded on this occasion the results of his talks with the Moroccan officials, highlighting the major strides made by Morocco to uphold human rights and freedom, the same source added.
Benkirane reiterated the commitment of the Kingdom to protecting liberties and guaranteeing human rights under the rule of law.
