Rabat - Mohamed Hassad, Morocco's Interior Minister, has reportedly banned “the import of drones and remote-controlled flying devices in general,” due to security concerns.

According to a joint statement issued on Wednesday by the Minister of Interior and the Minister of Foreign Trade, regulators have announced their decision to submit the import and use of drones and any flying objects to prior authorization in order to prevent a potential threat of terrorist attacks against sensitive sites in the country.

There have been no reports of drone incidents in Morocco.

According to the statement, drones or any other flying objects imported illegally will be seized and companies or government institutions that want to purchase them must obtain prior permission from the authorities.
