Rabat - Head of government Abdelilah Benkirane has revealed that he was the target of potential threats as a result of the reforms he is undertaking along with the other members of his cabinet.
During a pre-election rally over the weekend in Errachidia, southern Morocco, head of government and Secretary General of the Party of Justice and Development (PJD), Abdelilah Benkirane, said that his life was threatened because of drastic reforms, including lifting subsidies of vital products such as premium gasoline and fuel oil.
He said that when King Mohammed VI was informed on the matter, he gave his instructions to the Interior Minister in order to increase the level of his protection by assigning four bodyguards to accompany him.
