Rabat - Theo Francken, Belgian secretary of state for Asylum, migration and administrative simplification is visiting Morocco starting March 26th.
Francken is known for having made some "racist" comments against the Moroccan community in Belgium. In October 2014, he found himself in hot waters after he questioned on Facebook the "added value" that immigrants from Morocco, Congo and Algeria bring to the Belgian economy.
In the same month, several political parties demanded Francken's resignation after he was present at the Birthday of Bob Maes, a former member of the Vlaams Nationaal Verbond, a party who collaborated with the Nazis during the Second World War.
The Belgian politician from the New Flemish Alliance (N-VA) Party is visiting the kingdom with Belgian interior minister Jan Jambon. They are expected to meet Moroccan officials to push for greater cooperation in the fight against radicalization and the readmission conditions for "illegal criminals."
