Rabat - Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has signed a long-term contract with Air France KLM for the maintenance of five Boeing 787s owned by the Moroccan flag carrier.
According to a press release issued by Air France KLM, the contract "will organize component repair and overhaul services for Boeing 787s owned by Royal Air Maroc, with dedicated access to the Air France KLM E&M spares pool at Amsterdam."
The latest contract is an extension to an earlier agreement signed in January 2013, when Royal Air Maroc entrusted support for its fleet of over 30 Boeing 737NG aircraft to Air France KLM E&M.
On this occasion, Mr. Franck Terner, Executive Vice President AIR FRANCE KLM Engineering & Maintenance, said: "We are extremely honored by this latest expression of trust on the part of Royal Air Maroc and, what's more, for extending our cooperating to this new-generation product that is being rapidly adopted by leading international airlines."
Royal Air Maroc and Air France KLM E&M have been partners in aircraft maintenance for over thirty years. In 2009, the two groups set up a 50/50 joint venture under the name Aerotechnic Industries (ATI) that specializes in narrow-body airframe maintenance.
The Casablanca-headquartered company forms a center of excellence for C and D checks for all Q320 and Boeing 737 fleets operating in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Royal Air Maroc serves 45 countries and 70 destinations with over 1,500 flights weekly. RAM's Centre Industriel Aéronautique is responsible for operating and maintaining the Group fleet.
