Rabat - After the tragic deaths of 33 people, including 20 promising young athletes between the age of 10 and 14 near the city of Tantan, Moroccan television channel 2M has decided not to air Friday's episode of its hit show, "Rachid Show", a weekly late night talk show created and hosted by TV personality Rachid Allali, and in which he serves comedy bits and welcomes Moroccan and international celebrities, athletes and musicians.
On Friday, April 10th, the day 2M was supposed to air a new episode of "Rachid Show", a bus carrying nearly 50 people and a tanker truck filled with petrol collided near the city of Tantan, southern Morocco.
The head-on collision resulted in the deaths of many passengers onboard the doomed bus and the semi-trailer. Among the fatalities are twenty children who had just finished their participating at a national school games competition earlier this week.
The show's host Rachid Allali posted a short video on YouTube in which he expressed heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims and urged motorists to remain safe and pay extra attention while on the roads.
This comes after 2M had already been subject to harsh criticism last November following its decision to air an episode of the same comedy show in addition to a musical concert at a time the country was in shock as torrential rains left more than 47 people dead in southern Morocco.
