Rabat - King Mohammed VI will make an official visit to Guinea Bissau on Wednesday. The visit is expected to give new impetus to bilateral relations.
The monarch starts on Wednesday, May 27th, a three-day visit to Guinea Bissau, said a statement from the Guinea-Bissau Foreign Ministry. This is Mohammed VI's first visit to the Western African country.
According to the statement, twenty cooperation agreements will be signed during the visit, mainly in the areas of health, education, agriculture and transport.
Morocco has reportedly made a donation of 12 tons of medical drugs to Guinea Bissau, including antiretroviral drugs and antibiotics for the treatment of tuberculosis.
A Moroccan medical team is also said to have been dispatched to Guinea Bissau earlier this week to deliver free consultations and perform surgeries at the Simao Mendes Central Hospital, the country's largest medical facility, according to news website le360.
This is the second leg of a four-nation tour of Africa, which will also take the monarch to Cote d'Ivoire and Gabon.
