Rabat - Eight Moroccan women have been arrested in Indonesia on suspicion of being prostitutes, according to Jakarta post.
Indonesia's Immigration Investigation Directorate arrested on Monday eight Moroccan women suspected of being prostitutes in Puncak, Bongor, West Java.
"We acted on reports from locals and we carried out the arrest," said acting immigration director general Kabul-Priyono on Wednesday as quoted by Antara news agency.
"They are now being questioned in the Immigration Investigation Directorate," he added.
According to the same source, the Moroccan women entered Indonesia using tourist visas.
Authorities in Indonesia also arrested a man who is suspected of being the sex workers' pimp.
Head of Immigration Investigation Directorate, Bombang Catur said "although the suspects had not violated the stay limit they had allegedly misrepresented the purpose of their visit to the country."
Morocco is included in the list of countries whose citizens are able to enter Indonesia without a visa in an attempt to boost tourism.
