Rabat - A violent fire broke out in a wholesale fruit and vegetable market in Tangier on Friday afternoon, causing significant property damage but no casualties.
The fire began in empty boxes used to transport vegetables and fruit, burning nearly all of them.
Firefighters, who were dispatched immediately to the scene of the accident, managed to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading to other neighboring buildings.
In a video posted on YouTube, flames and heavy smoke could be seen blanketing a large area.
While the cause of the fire has yet to be identified, an investigation is likely to be initiated to determine the circumstances.
