ISIS Hangs Two Boys for not Observing Ramadan

Rabat- The so-called Islamic State (ISIS) is believed to have hung two teenagers in the village of Mayadeen, located in Syria’s Deir Ezzor province, after being accused of eating during the daylight hours of the holy fasting month of Ramadan.

According to the Syrian Observatory of Human Rights, the two boys, both under 18, were left hanging for hours in a very horrific scene in the public square of Mayadeen.

“The children have been suspended by ropes from a pole since noon, and they were still there in the late evening... Apparently, they were caught eating,” Rami Abdel Rahman, head of the UK-based human rights monitor, revealed.

The terrorist group, known for its brutal methods of killing, suspended the two boys from their wrists onto a pole, with passersby unable to approach their corpses.

An eyewitness said that “a placard was placed around the neck stating that they had broken the Ramadan fast.”

For Muslims, deliberately eating within the daylight hours of Ramadan is not punishable in Islam, but necessitates kaffarah, or expiation entailing any person who fails to observe Ramadan to either free a slave, fast 60 consecutive days or feed 60 impoverished people.
