Rabat - A few days after pledging to donate his entire wealth, Saudi Arabia’s Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal announced on Friday that his foundation, the Alwaleed Philanthropies will grant over 10, 000 cars and 10, 000 housing units to Saudi citizens.

This is good news for thousands of Saudi Arabian families with limited means who struggle to afford a home in Saudi Arabia.

In a tweet, Prince Alwaleed called upon Saudi citizens willing to benefit from the grants to submit their request to the AlwaleedFoundation website.Erem News reported that the Alwaleed Foundation received thousands of requests shortly after the prince’s tweet.

According to Prince Alwaleed, the total number of beneficiaries among Saudi men and women will reach 100,000 in 10 years.

The housing units will be distributed on an average of 1,000 units per year to beneficiaries who do not qualify for housing under the Housing Ministry's System.

According to the statistics posted on the foundation’s website, 1,240 housing units have already been distributed to a number of beneficiaries, encompassing 10,558 men and women.

According to the same source, the 10,000 cars will be delivered to the families at an average of 1,000 cars each year.

"What I possess is a gift from Allah. I was born and brought up in this dear country, the most precious place for me to give and share with its people. In whatever I do, I am thankful to and seek the countenance of Allah", Prince Alwaleed said.

In a news conference held in Riyadh earlier this week, Prince Alwaleed Bin Talalhad revealed that he will donate his entire wealth, estimated at $32 billion, to charity in coming years via the Alwaleed Foundation.
