Rabat - General President of homebuilder group Addoha Anas Sefrioui has been told to stop using the name of King Mohammed VI for economic leverage.

The real estate businessman was urged at a meeting at the Ministry of Interior on Saturday to stop speaking on behalf of King Mohammed VI in the business circles.

According to Le360, Interior Minister Mohammed Hassad has asked the Addoha boss not to use the name of the sovereign while making commercial transactions.

The same source added that because of this Anas Sefrioui had been excluded from the list of guests at the wedding of Prince Moulay Rachid.

"It seems that Anas Sefrioui had this annoying habit of presenting his projects as belonging to the royal will," says news website Le360. "He thought that by this subterfuge he will influence certain decisions and speed up procedures."

According to American magazine Forbes, Sefrioui is Morocco's third richest person. He develops low-cost houses for thousands of middle class Moroccans. As of last year, the Fez-born businessman was worth $1.1 billion.
