King Mohammed VI Invites 12,000 Moroccans For Collective Ramadan Iftar

Rabat - About 12,000 people are expected to take part in a collective Iftar meal tonight in Casablanca on the occasion of Laylat Alqadr, the Night of Destiny, at the initiative of King Mohammed VI.

The collective Iftar, which is the first of its kind in Morocco, will take place at the Fair Exhibition in Casablanca, near Hassan II Mosque. the mosque hosts tens of thousands worshipers at Taraweeh, a set of prayers performed collectively by Muslims after the Isha prayer during Ramadan.

Preparations for the event are underway. Tents have been set up at the fair exhibitions, and the streets of the neighborhood were decorated.

The preparation of food was entrusted to the renowned caterer Rahal, who sepcailizes in organizing large parties and food ceremonies.

According to the Moroccan daily Assabah in its Monday edition, the royal palace in Casablanca is also preparing to welcome around 1,000 officials for another collective Iftar.
