Fez - According to the Sunday Times, Saudi Arabia is working closely with Israel to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear power.

The Saudis, who seize any opportunity at the United Nations or other international fora to denounce Israel’s occupation of the Palestine Territory, are now working with Israel to curb Iran's nuclear ambition.

“Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency is working with Saudi officials on contingency plans for a possible attack on Iran if its nuclear program is not significantly curbed in a deal that could be signed in Geneva this week,” the British newspaper said.

Like Israel, Saudi Arabia, is staunchly opposed to Iran’s nuclear program and fear the consequences of a Nuclear Iran on the balance of power in the Middles East.

Saudi Arabia and Iran are convinced that the Geneva talks won’t curb Iran’s nuclear ambitions and the military option should remain on the table, according to the same source.

To prevent Iran from reaching its nuclear ambitions, Riyadh has allegedly given Israel the green light to use its airspace in the event of an attack on Iran. While Iran is part of the Non-Proliferation Treaty, Israel is the only country in the Middle East that is not part of the NPT.

It is also the only nuclear power of the region and is opposed to the establishment of a nuclear-weapon-free-zone in the Middle East.
