France's President Hollande greets Morocco's King Mohammed VI before talks at the Elysee Palace in Paris

Bordeaux - King Mohammed VI accepted French President François Hollande's invitation to attend the France-Africa Summit in Paris.

François Hollande has invited "All African leaders" to attend a summit for peace and security in the African continent. It will be held on December 6 and 7 in Paris and will largely be oriented towards the fight against terrorism. King Mohammed VI, who is said to currently be on a private visit in France, will attend the event, diplomatic sources in Rabat told Morocco World News. About 40 African leaders are expected to participate.

Paris announced today that the summit will be followed by a mini-summit on the crisis in the Central African Republic on December 7, with UN chief Ban Ki-moon and neighboring African countries. The gathering will take place after the UN Security Council votes on France's plan to deploy about 1,000 soldiers to join the African-led "stabilization mission".

The King's visit comes after the great success of his meeting with President Barack Obama last week in Washington. It is a great occasion for the country to strengthen its alliances with both France and its African neighbor, notably on issues such as migrations, security and the fight against terrorism.
