Marrakech- The Club World Cup matches taking place in Morocco will be preceded by a moment of silence and a minute’s applause to mark the life and accomplishments of anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela, said FIFA general secretary Jerome Valcke who was speaking at the opening press conference of the tournament held at Marrakech following the meeting of the FIFA organizing committee.
Valcke said that posters of Mandela will be shown on big screens at the hosting stadiums in Marrakech and Agadir.
On the other hand, regarding the preparations of the big day tomorrow, Chairman Mohamed Raouraoua, who was also present, said that all concerns are now surmounted.“Everything is now completely ready, the infrastructure is good, there are excellent hotel facilities, airports, and the natural turf is meeting FIFA requirements.”
Raouraoua added that the goal line technology will be introduced for the first time in Africa through FIFA World Cup Morocco.
15,000 Raja Casablanca fans will be coming to Agadir to support the host team who will be colliding with Auckland city from New Zeland on Wednesday, according to estimates provided by Event Director Karim Alem.
“Sells have been successful with 30000 tickets have already been sold and a filling rate of 75%,” Alem added.
