Sidi Ifni- Following the historic victory yesterday of Morocco’s soccer team Raja over Brazil’s Atletico Miniero, Morocco’s head of government, Abdelilah Benkirane, congratulated the team on its qualification for the final of the FIFA Club World Cup.
“We have to give thanks to God for His numerous blessings. We must thank God on the occasion of Raja’s glorious win,” Abdelilah Benkirane said.
“Morocco’s Casablanca Raja team victory is a great honor for us. This is a prestigious win,” he added.
Benkirane addressed Morocco’s ministers, pointing out that Morocco can pride itself on the success of that Raja has brought the country, adding that he had received phone calls from other countries congratulating him on this “well deserved” victory.
“I received a call from Palestine, congratulating me on Raja team’s win, “ Benkirane said.
Commenting on the capabilities of Moroccans, Benkirane added, “The historic victory of Casablanca’s team is a sign that Moroccans are capable of working miracles.”
"We hope that such victories will continue to grace our country," Benkirane noted.
"Moroccans must celebrate this success," he remarked.
Huge crowds of Moroccans in different parts of the country and in some European countries celebrated Raja’s win on Wednesday night, considering the qualification as “historic” and a “recognition” for Moroccan football.
Immediately after the final whistle of yesterday’s match, King Mohamed VI congratulated Raja’s coach on the team’s well-earned qualification for the final of this prestigious tournament.
