Taroudant- According to the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) Morocco is among the most popular destinations for sun lovers along with the Canary Islands, Tunisia, and Cape Verde, an island off western Africa.
As usual, millions of people all over the world are on the move on the eve of Christmas holidays and touristic destinations are expected to be at their heaviest.
The same source said that Friday, Saturday and Sunday were likely to be the busiest days for those flying abroad.
Marrakech, the first African tourist destination, is already crowded with tourists because of the 2013 FIFA Club World Cup tournament it is hosting along with Agadir.
Although Marrakech is considered a hot destination of most tourists, there are many other remarkable places all over the entire kingdom where you can enjoy peacefully your Christmas: from the coastal and imperial cities along the Atlantic Ocean to the historic cities and villages in the south with their golden dunes, Kasbahs, and green oasis in the middle of the desert, accessible via camel treks.
Morocco’s 2020 Vision, presented on November 30 in Marrakech before the King Mohammed VI, has set a goal to double the size of the tourism sector to attract 20 million tourists per year by 2020 and to place the Kingdom among the top 20 tourism destinations in the world.
