Rabat- Real Madrid’s 5-0 victory on Saturday over hosts Real Betis saw the team’s manager Carlo Ancelotti celebrating his 500th competitive win of his coaching career.
Ancelotti won 24 games in La Liga, 49 wins in Ligue 1 with PSG, 67 victories for Chelsea, and 360 triumphs during his coaching years in Italy’s Serie A.
The Italian seemed happy with his side’s win saying that “everything went well in the game”. ”We will sleep well tonight”, he added.
The Los Blancos managed to reach the joint-top of the table, at least for 24 hours. F.C. Barcelona and Atletico Madrid both have a game in hand.
“This game was a great opportunity to get to the top of the table”, Ancelotti said, adding that all of his players played with great concentration.
“Gareth Bale played well. The whole team played well for the whole game. There was a lot of concentration. We defended well. We are happy because these can look like easy matches before then become a problem.”
Besides the Madrid manager landmark during the Betis match, the team’s forward Karim Benzema celebrated his 100th goal for Real Madrid.
Juan Carlos Garrido, Real Betis manager said that “Real Madrid won fairly because the team played much better”, and added that “efficiency was key with Madrid scoring with its first three shots on goal, with that type of score it’s difficult to react against such an efficient opponent.
Real Madrid will face Espanyol in the first-leg of the Copa Del Rey quarter-final next Wednesday.
