A two-year old girl from Taroudant, 140 miles south of Marrakech, was raped then left dead in a deserted building last Tuesday, May 7, as reported many news sources this week.
The victim, Fatma L’Ghandour, a two-year old girl from Taroudant, was allegedly lured by a stranger to a deserted building in the city where he continuously raped her until she dropped dead.
In order to prevent any additional crimes by the same individual who raped and killed Fatma, security officials in Taroudante doubled their efforts to find the killer from the moment the crime was reported.
Allegedly, a jobless, 30-year old individual, suspected to be Fatima’s rapist and killer, was arrested last Thursday, May 9.
The arrested individual, however, is still deemed to be only a suspect until in-depth investigations are conducted on this case.
The public prosecutor himself gave strict orders that the recently arrested suspect be placed under staunch surveillance until police investigations are finished.
