Morocco’s police officers to learn English and Spanish

Rabat - The National Security Directorate launches a new in-service training for the various departments of the organization, which includes learning Spanish and English languages.

In an effort to modernize the methods used by the directorate, national security officials announced in a press conference that the agents and the officers of the urban police corps will receive in-service training.

In addition to continuous vocational training, the police officers will learn English and Spanish.

According to Le Matin, many groups constituted of 20 people each will enroll in these language courses.

Mohamed Benouhoud, human resources manager of the police headquarters, said that “the courses will be administered by language professors".

Agents and officers will attend courses from Monday to Thursday to learn new methods and technologies. After one year, they will have logged an average of over 2000 hours of training.

According to the same source, this training will involve many different groups within the national security directorate, but is aimed especially at border police.

So far, over 1900 agents and state employees have benefited from training on a variety of subjects, including national and international drug trafficking networks.
