Rabat - The Belgian Police arrested the main suspect of a bank robbery that took place in Tangiers less than two weeks ago.
The Belgium news website RTBF said on Tuesday that Hassan B., a Moroccan living in Brussels accused of involvement in a bank truck armed robbery, has been arrested.
After the police redoubled their efforts to capture the bank robbers, Belgium police successfully arrested the Moroccan suspect via Interpol On March 9th according to RTBF.
According to the same source, the suspect is to be extradited to Morocco.
The captured suspect, has already been sentenced to ten years for taking part in a bank robbery in 2002.
Hassan B. is believed to be the brains of the operation, leading the masked gunmen who attacked a money-laden armored car in broad daylight in downtown Tangier last month, and ran away with a big sum of money.
