Rabat - Member of the opposition party the Constitutional Union (CU) Khadija Radi was the victim of an outrageous attack by unknown persons last Tuesday, after they kidnapped her and tried to rape her in a forest near Sidi Yahya El Gharb.
Last Tuesday, Khadija Radi, a leader of the party’s Regional Organization for Women, was planning to attend a meeting in Sidi Sliman (68 miles north east of Rabat).
While she was waiting for transportation to Sidi Sliman for the meeting, three unidentified persons riding in a black car kidnapped her, and headed for a forest near Sidi Yahya El Gharb, where they tried to rape her, according to Al Massaa.
Yet Khadija, mother of three children, did not give up. She resisted her attackers and tried to stop the car.
According to the same source, the suspects responded to her resistance by stabbing various parts of her body, before they fled, and leaving Khadija in her own blood.
The 31-year-old politician was found in critical condition in the forest. Her head, cheek and fingers were badly wounded and her left eye was bruised.
She was immediately transported to the emergency room at Kenitra’s regional hospital, where she has been in intensive care; her condition remains unstable.
