Casablanca - The police of Casablanca Mohammed V international airport arrested on Tuesday night two sub -Saharan Africans who were in possession of 75 kilograms of cocaine, according to Maghreb Arab Press (MAP).
The suspects were onboard a flight coming from a Latin American country.
This is the biggest amount of cocaine seized recently by Moroccan customs in all border check points in the country.
According to Mr. Abdelhadi Siba, chief of the airport's judiciary police, the drug intercepted was carefully concealed in decorative objects, parts of vehicles, handbags and laptop bags.
The perpetrators deliberately used spices to neutralize the smell of drugs.
This it is the fifth aborted attempt to smuggle hard drugs into Moroccan soil in less than two weeks. About 22 kg of cocaine were seized recently in similar operations, according to the same source.
