Morocco Takes part in Cairo in Meeting on Creation of joint Arab force

Cairo - Morocco took part on Wednesday in Cairo in the meeting of the high level group which was set up upon the decision by the 26th Arab Summit, held in Sharm el-Sheikh, during which it was agreed on the principle of creating a joint Arab force to defend Arab national security.

The Moroccan delegation included FAR's Inspector General and commander of the Southern Zone, general Mohamed Roudaby, chief of Deuxième bureau (intelligence services), the Secretary General of the foreign ministry Nasser Bourita, Morocco's ambassador to Egypt, Kingdom's permanent representative to the Arab League Mohamed Saad Alami and director of Mashrek, Gulf and Arab and Islamic organizations division at the foreign ministry Ahmed Tazi.

The meeting focused on measures to implement this Arab force, and action mechanisms and the budget necessary for its formation.

The meeting results will be presented to Arab leaders via a committee comprising the current chairperson of the Arab Summit (Egypt), the previous chairperson (Kuwait) and the next one (Morocco) before submitting it to the Arab Defense Council for approval.
