Rabat - A Video published on YouTube by Al Jazeera Children has stirred uproar in Morocco after showing the Sahara as not being part of the Moroccan territory.
The Qatari-owned channel has not only cut off the map of Morocco separating the Sahara from the rest of the country, it has also introduced the latter as an independent sovereign country called "Western Sahara".
The Doha-based Al Jazeera and its sister channels have been repeatedly showing wrong maps of Morocco.
In this case, the shown map is not even in accordance with the United Nations which refers to the Western Sahara region as a disputed territory and not as a country.
In a similar dispute with India, Al Jazeera said that maps displayed in their broadcasts are generated by an internationally known software used by Global News Providers.
