Rabat - A Moroccan cancer patient earned her Baccalaureate degree in the hospital.
19-year-old Zainab Akroud sat for the Baccalaureate exam earlier this month at the Ibn Rochd Hospital in Casablanca where she is being treated.
Despite her physical issues, the determined young woman successfully passed all the written exams which she wrote inside her hospital room with the presence of an invigilator assigned to her by the Ministry of Education.
The El Jadida native defied her illness and scored 10 out of 20 on the Baccalaureate exams, according to Moroccan news website AlYoum24.
It was in April 2015 when Zainab was diagnosed with cancer. However, she was determined to keep up with her studies with the help of her friends who accompanied her during the preparations for the exams.
Zainab has been described as a dedicated young woman, scoring well in previous exams.
