Rabat - Latifa Ibn Ziaten is an activist and the mother of Imad Ibn Ziaten, one of the victims of Mohammed Merah. Mohammed Merah killed Imad on March 11, 2012 and 6 other people in Toulouse and Montauban before being shot on March 22, 2012.
The woman of Moroccan origin has attended the plateau of Le Grand 8 to promote her message of peace. The other guest of the show, former French minister of health Roselyne Bachelot, couldn’t hold her tears after reading Latifa Ibn Ziaten’s message who urged people from all persuasions confessions to tolerance, respect, and understanding of each other because “Ignorance feeds hatred.”
She also called on the Muslims of France to serve the republic in a way that would give it “the best of your parent’s tradition”, by being faithful to their values such as hospitality, respect of family and ancestors.
She concluded her by saying that the republic should be more open towards the youth so that they, in turn, give it respect. The former minister in tears called Mrs. Ibn Ziaten “a great woman.”
